Heading South with Dolphins

We continue to head south along Florida's east coast. On January 9 we moved from St. Augustine to New Smyrna Beach where we connected with Mark's cousin Jane and her husband Fred. They live in Colorado and are in the area visiting friends Eric and Charlene. After a tour of Mara Beel they whisked us off to Charlene's and Eric's lovely home for a delicious dinner and wonderful hospitality.

The following day (January 10) we covered 101 miles- a very long day. We anchored off Pine Island and Hole in the Wall Island just before sunset, after 11 hours of cruising. This is a terrific anchorage, and we enjoyed a peaceful night.

During the cruise we were treated to dolphin antics all afternoon. Watching these amazing creatures never gets old. What a treat!

Intermittent showers were followed by an interesting rainbow or two.
